No idea if the new Devhook USB launcher works with portable harddrives (The Dax one didnt), but if it doesnt, all the portable harddrive will allow you to do is move stuff from the harddrive to an existing memory stick.

I think an iriver PMP works for portable storage for the PSP

Once you connect it to the PSP and go into USB mode how would you be able to access anything?

you don't need to hack, people can do this quite simply- type in your web address (you want to go to; eg. www.google.co.uk). Now when you accept this and the Internet browser loads the page it will ask you what connection you want to use. Click new connection or modify an existing connection. After this click scan, if you are in highly populated area or city/town centre there will be hotels and offices with wifi/ routers and if its a highly residential area there's bound to be some person with a router of if they cannot get it to work correctly the wifi max dongle...if they do not have a WEP encryption... you have access to the Internet! However, depending on how many people are using the service, the distance you are from it and the signal strength (tells you in %) you may not be able to connect/experience slow speeds. Don't forget: major airports/hotels/office's/cafes and places of public interest and business most likely have routers close by.

no it wouldnt you need a USB Host ... i.e. a computer

USB OTG (On the Go) works. I got a Transcend USB 2.0 OTG 30 Gig for like 150. Works like a charm with the PSP. It's also very small, which was my intention as I want to keep this whole setup as portable as possible. If anyone decides to do this, make sure there is a LCD screen and that the drive supports file control. Without that, the most you can do it full backups of your MS, which would be pointless

i think you could move files by using IR shell or some browser. that'd be noice, but a doubtful method for working.
