Full Version: Mega Man Powered Up Review

Optimus Prime

Genre: Action
Players: 1

Capcom has released another Mega Man remake for the PSP but this time it’s a remake of the original NES version. As with Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X, the graphics have been recreated in 3D and also contain slowdown in some situations. Improved music and acceptable voice acting has also been included.

The difference now is that the game has a “cute” look instead of the much more serious look of the last title. This may bother some people but it doesn't interfere with the gameplay. It’s Mega Man so I’m sure you know what to expect. Run, jump, shoot and blow things up with different weapons and tactics for different boss characters.

This version of Mega Man contains all the original levels as well as newly created ones in the same worlds, thus doubling the game time. Not only that, you’ll also unlock boss characters and will be required to play through the game with them if you want to complete the game 100%.

Mega Man Powered Up is a more difficult game than Maverick Hunter X and doesn’t seem to be as fun or exciting either. While the plot in Maverick Hunter X wasn’t fantastic, it was much better than the one featured here.

The length of the game provides good value for money and overall, it is better to pick this version up if you can’t afford both. Another stellar release by Capcom and a worthy addition to anyone’s PSP collection.

Is rush in the game at all? I read the article but don't remember seeing him mentioned. I always thought he was one of the coolest things in the game.
