i just got my PSP and i would like to put the genisis and SNES emulator on it but i'm not really good with all this technical stuff...i'm sure its been said before but i cant find any posts about it. can someone please take the time to explain how to start putting this stuff on my PSP cause i would really like to play some old school games. i would greatly appreciate it. thanks everyone. (and i dont have the firmware thing i dont think so i would have to update but i dont know how to do that either) -.-

First check what firmware version you have. Go into system and it will say.

Quick tutorial:

1) Settings -> System Settings -> System Information
     If your 'System Software' is 1.00 or 1.50, your PSP is homebrew (emulator) compatible

2) If your PSP is 1.50 (most likely is) you will need to download KXploit (unless the game already comes in 1.50 format - 2 directories in PSP/GAME/ - one with a % after it and one without.) http://psp-dev.1emulation.com - tutorials there on how to use it

3) The readme with the emulator will be self explainatory, you will be required to make some directories and stuff.

optimus, someone should really make a sticky in general discussion on how to use homebrew for those who dont know, theres always going to be new people and all the old tutorials and stuff are lost near the beggining and a lot of people wont use search (not accusing you Galvan, you already said you tried )

i keep getting the error "The game could not be started. (80020001)" and my version is 1.50. >< this is difficult for me. can anyone go in depth on what im doin wrong, i made a directory GAME and GAME% and but the multiloader in the right files i think...i dunno whats goin wrong when i try to load genesis emulator.

did you use the kxploit because their are two programs that look alike(the other progrem is called swaploti swiching ms in and out) make shure that it's kxploit but it should work.you also have to have your psp hoked up with a usb cable to work with Kxploit.hope this helps

did you get doom to work if you can get doom to work you can get any homebrew game/emu to work(how did i know looked at your bio of downloads)

i couldnt get doom to work and i thought i dl'ed kxploit... can someone give me exact url of where its located? i get lost in spanish and what not...

As to why the game could not be started, i had the same problem but once i resetted the system setting to default and reformatted the memory stick, it started to work for me.. Hope this will help!!
