PSPHacks has released the source code to their PSP Flash software. We previously covered the software here. Hopefully with the source code available more people will look towards improving its shortcomings.
Fanjita and friends have released version 0.96 of their eLoader, codenamed "Bière d'Alsace." I've never had one. Improvements include infrared support, using O instead of X (finally), additional config options, and so on.
There's a new PSP Content Pack available from us.playstation.com. The new pack includes two game trailers, some game music, a load of wallpapers, and some previews of new UMD-Video releases.
Gamestop is listing a nice new case that holds CDs/DVDs as well as UMDs. It's a nice option for people like me who don't want to carry around two different cases just for two (three) different kinds of disc. Now if they added some pockets for Memory Stick Duo cards, we'd be golden.
A coder named xz-81 has released an HP48 Calculator emulator for the PSP. It's already in version 1.0, and "working fine," so give it a shot if you're uhh...into calculating things.
We were just talking about the PSP's upcoming DLNA client a couple weeks ago, and in that article, Sony stated that some DLNA specifications would be finalized "in March." Well, it's March, and the specifications have been finalized (English press release here). So now it's not a question of if the PSP will get a DLNA client, but when the PSP will get a DLNA client. The article mentions that the DLNA will begin verification of products that include these guidelines in the later half of the year. As long as firmware 3.00 is in the news, and since we're already speculating firmware 3.00 will contain a DLNA client, I'll go ahead and also speculate that we won't see firmware 3.00 until October. Or perhaps even later.
