Generally no, they do not work. They rip people off. They are trying to get you to sign up for a bunch of their "great offers" and then the system is set up (read the fine print) with so many limits that you will most likely never get what you signed up for

i lost something like $30 trying to win one of these puppies. i feel that if i had just bit the bullet and done that extra offer, i woulda gotten it. sadly though, i backed out, and with $30 less in my pocket, i greatly regret it. i remember that electronic gaming (i think it's that one, if not another) posted an article that they actually did it and it got sent! they had a picture of the receipt, original box, and packing records. it was quite a sight

i wonder why there are so many scammers/spammers around lately. There is such a phrase called:
"There is no such thing as free lunch".

Yeah, kinda lame

.
But, there was something what actually worked. To bad it is too late now, there was something and you had to buy something ($ 29,95) and they would put you on a list, then when 25 persons bought it too, you were allowed to pick some price, among the prices was a psp. But since 100 of people are on that waitinglist, 25000 people have to buy that useless thing of 30 dollars before you get your psp, so if you subscribe now you'll lose 30 dollars and get a psp when you a thousand years old

.
Maybe if they start another one and you are fast enough to subscribe you get a psp for free.

I'm not very fond of these things. most of them you need like 8 people to sign up and complete an offer, but they really do work (as I've seen people actually get things off these), but ONLY IF you can get enough people to complete an offer. If not, then you're out some money. And it's like a conitinuous chain, so it's just not worth it.
