SniperGX
This is basically UMD Dumper Alpha v0.001 but it saves the ISO as \ISO\GX.ISO so as
soon as you rip an ISO you can run it using Fastloader without needing to go to a pc to move the ISO.

This is great for when you want to rip a friends UMD and don't have a computer nearby.

How would having a computer nearby help anyway? Ya could just use File Assistant to move the file(s) around and rename them anyhow (very handy application as it allows you to read individual files off the UMD if they don't fit on your MS all at once).
SniperGX
Everytime I use File Assistant to move large files it freezes...

The whole idea of this is to make it convenient for dump and play. smile.gif

Nice work for the lazy people. wink.gif
Optimus Prime
Good job now if someone can just modify it to dump through the USB straight to the comp I'll be able to dump Midnight Club! Huzzah tongue.gif
stevenz
Fair enough then smile.gif

There's a new version of File assistant out now which looks much prettier and may well be more stable. I used the old version to rip THUG2 which is bigger than the 1Gb MS I've got, I just had to do it in 2 stages. Then just edit the files, re-create the ISO and off ya go.
Optimus Prime
Yeah? Could you give me a quick tuorial so I could rip MC3?
SniperGX
Make sure you have a folder in the root of your psp named "ISO".

Insert the UMD in the drive and run UMDRIPPER GX. when its done it will go back to the psp menu. Then just run Fastloader to run the gane.
Optimus Prime
No i meant stevenz on how to use the file assistant as MC3 is 2gb and I only have a 1gb stick
djp
there have been serveral shots and trying to rip it and no one has been succsessfull
Chouonsoku
YERSiNiA ripped Midnight Club 3 just fine.
djp
not filesize wise.
Chouonsoku
Ah, I thought you meant ripping the actual UMD.
stevenz
If you want an accurate ISO rip including slack-space, you won't get it. If the game can be rebuilt okay with VCDROMx, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Just use FileAssistant (new version seems to have "issues" reading UMD directories, does here anyway, the old version was fine) to access the UMD and copy as many files as you can onto the MS (I'm not sure of directory structure on MC3 so I can't suggest any clever sequence). Exist to MXB, transfer them all over USB to your PC, then delete them and repeat the process for the remaining files. Once you've got them all, try running it through VCDROMx and see if it'll create a valid bootable ISO.

No guarantee it will, in which case you may well need a USB-dumper or some other clever method, but it'll at least get you the files so you can try stripping them out and use Hookboot if Fastloader won't load the ISO.

I've used the same method to rip THUG2 on my 1Gb MS. Haven't actually tried ISOing it yet. I might have a play in a minute and see if I can get it to work.
stevenz
Righto, THUG2 works fine as a rebuilt ISO. I even used the wrong UMD_DATA.BIN file as I didn't rip that for some reason. Plus an entire deleted directory and a bunch of altered movie files to make it a touch under 800Mb. So unless MC3 uses direct disc-access in the same way that Hotshots does, it should work (in theory).
Optimus Prime
Ok thanks StevenZ which version is the "old version"? i may give it a shot.

Downloading MC3 on dialup? A man can dream LOL Anyway I have the actual UMD so......Also MC3 doesn't work in Fastloader so I wont be able to check but I can keep the rebuilt ISO till I can tongue.gif
