Hi,
First of all, my highest respect to all of members of this forum, I have found the answer to all my questions just by searching the forum plus you have what I think the most complete PSP site on the net. Thank you.
I have a model PSP1000, the ones that first came out on eBay, it was firmware 1.00, to make a long story short I bought Coded Arms and update it to 1.50. Recently I wanted to upgrade my PSP to the latest firmware 2.60, Try it strait from the PSP network update, it downloaded but when I hit the o button to update, it reboots and comes to a screen were you can see the background of the PSP but no words just x and o at the bottom of the screen, I have try to download it through PC and to firmware 2.00 strait from game scom with same results. Have any body had this problem or has a idea of what to do. Just want to play the new games coming out… Thanks again, Jay.

mine did this too, it's a corruption problem with your 1.5 F/W, maybe one of the homebrew's screwed it up, i dunno.
anyway when the X and O are sitting there at the bottom of the screen hit x twice to get to the third screen, then just imagine the yes/no is there in the middle, hit the right(or left) arrow to put the "imaginary" cursor on the "imaginary" yes for upgrade and it should start for you. it was scary because when it restarts it says corruption problems in flash 0, must re-format system OS, then you have to set the sys language and date, all finished, hope this helps.

Thanks a lot it worked..... just that in the last screen instead of moving left or right it was up or down to chose the update. Wow I sure got scared when it ask me to restart…
Thanks again,

Yeah, if you hit problems you are better off waiting for the update on future games.

That was the strange thing….. I rented a game with the update (Socom) and the same thing was happening, I was not able to reed the update screen, it just came out blank… If it happens to someone else, just keep pressing right and on the last screen press down 1 time and X or O in my case O, to update.

that happened to me aswell i was upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0 to plat GTA and the update was just blank, i think it must have sumthing to do with the homebrew cuz it said sumin about flash 0, and i think this is a file created by UMDEmulator

i had the same problem when updating from 1.5 to 2.0 to play gta, and how to solve the problem is just reset ur psp to factory default settings and all the text will now reappear, but seriously, do u really want to go from 1.5 to 2.6??? knowing what u can get for ur 1.5 psp these days?? i dont think it's worth updating myself, but thats my opinion
Also it has nothing to do with homebrew games and things like that, it's just the psp
