Hey, just writing to let you know it is possible to run Tiger Woods off of a 512 card w/o losing any courses. You do lose commentary though so if you need commentary to get through 18 holes on this bad boy (for free), no need to read any further.
1. Run it through MikeG’s UMD Shrinker v.1.0 (Works Great btw).
2. That should get you to 686 MB.
3. Extract the shrunk ISO (I used WinRAR).
4. Mine was at 1.02 GB.
5. Go to- PSP_GAME\USRDIR
6. Erase- pad0.pad & pad1.pad but I’m sure y’all know about that already (props to whoever came up with that.)
7. Then go to- PSP_GAME\USRDIR\data\audio\streams
8. Make a copy of- 04_femusic.viv (8.57MB)
9. Click on- 01_commentary.viv (141MB), 2 times slowly so you are where you can edit the name. Right click then copy the filename.
10. Delete that file
11. Click on- the copy of 04_femusic.viv, 2 times slowly so you are where you can edit the name. Right click then paste the filename- 01_commentary.viv .
12. Now the- 01_commentary.viv file is reduced from 141MB to 8.57MB. (Commentary is now gone too.)
13. Use the Non-English program copy to memory card use fastloader and enjoy playing Tiger off your stick with the knowledge that it’s only taking up 326MB.
I have only got to play 4 holes on whatever tournament I left off with, I have a three month old so no telling when I will be able to play around with for any kind of extensive time to really test it. I am gonna try to see if I can play multiplayer between my 1.50 running this and my 2.00 running the disc. Will let ya’ll know if it works.

that cant be right, u must have removed something else ... because i have the Tiger Woods rip (which has commentary and some eatrax already removed) after fiddling around for ages i was down to around 440mb with one full course deleted ... however, i cannot say that you are completely wrong because you worked from the proper ISO and i worked from a rip ... i'll get the full ISO and get back to this thread

It doesn't work properly.

The reason is UMD Shrinker v.1.0 gives a *bad image*. Courses files from "12_cou" to "21_car" are *empty*! 0 bytes!
That's why the size...

I wasn't aware of UMD Shrinker v.1.0 bug before this post. I checked the other images created with that program:

BUT the 0 files are the same as the original iso. So I guess it's correct.

aah so that explains it - seems very stupid to rip out courses from the game - but to fit onto a 512 this is the only way to do so.

what courses are in folder '12_cou' and '21_car'? i assumed that these courses were:

12_cou ---------Coeur d'Alene
21_car --------- The Predator

although i am not sure, i'd like to know this because if i can find out what folder 'Tiger Dream 18' is then il be happy to just delete that!

What was the process you used to get it to 440? I ripped the last 2 courses out and It freezes up on me when i try some of the Legend Challenges. Other than that no problems yet. I'd love to be able to get everything on a 512 card though.

What else did you do to only rip 1 course and fit it on a 512?

ripped out all eatrax and all commentary and vids ... and the one course folder '21_car' (which i believe was 'The Predator' but im not sure) ... the game runs great! no crashes or anything as of yet!
