Ill be getting mine a year or two after its release, just like i did with the PS2.

reasons:
- no doubt, wait for problems to be fixed
- cant afford, aswell as no job
- no HDTV...yet...i want to experience it FULLY.
- education (i'll be in yr 12 when it comes out, and i dont want to be playing ps3 all night!)

Not to burst your bubble, but the graphics wont really be much of difference until both companies are at the epitome of next gen games.... All games the PS3 the Xbox 360 and handle just as well, And guess what sony likes to photoshop more than any company. Both systems will be good, But from what i see (Own a 360, i do) The PS3, will more than likely fail. Look at the price of the system around 600 bucks for the top of the line, and see how much blu ray games will be. Can you say sony burn? : )
But i am still a fan of sony even though they jack up the prices, lower the quality, and their shit works for a month, I will get the ps3 : )

a true hi fi nut ,i.e my dad, would likly to consider purchasing one, not because of the gameing, but its a whole mulitmedia centre. i mean your getting one of the very first blu ray players, ability to store and watch movies, photos, music, etc...something the 360 failed to captivate.

So i think its good to see how it just dosnt appeal to gamers, but also the hi fi nuts.

The only sensible thing you said is that it is a bargain, the parts in the system itself are worth beyond $600, ha, i am sure the Cell cpu is worth more, and its the size of a thumbtack supposedly.

You can more than likely store movies once the hard drive sizes increase, you can store pictures, you can sure as hell store music.

I'm getting in line in one of the 6 "special" CircuitCity stores that sell 100 ps3's. It's definitely way better than 360 and Wii combined.

Well, I'm a sony fan. Literally all of my electronics are sony. 2 sony vaio computers, sony 65" hdtv, psp, everything. You name it I got it.

not getting one right away. I will eventually get one in a few years though when the prices come down.
